Our Mission
Our mission is to support northern Arizona’s outdoor adaptive sports programs and assist the Forest Highlands Foundation in helping to make the greater Flagstaff community a better place for all. We do this by engaging young adults through leadership opportunities, volunteerism, and philanthropy.

Top Gun Event Details:

This year the Forest Highlands Youth Leadership Board is paying homage to the greatest show on grass! We are creating our very own version of the Phoenix Open’s 16th Hole with all the excitement and drama that goes with it - and it’s all for a good cause!

Come enjoy this special evening on the driving range. Dining tables anchored by the “Top Gun Bar” will surround the players’ tee box giving you upfront access to cheer or jeer your favorite Forest Highlands gun slingers as they face off in this one-of-a-kind closest to the pin style event. It’s time to find out who really is Best of the Best. The ‘Top Gun’ with the highest score will receive a commemorative plaque and have his or her name proudly displayed on the Top Gun Champions Cup in the Canyon Clubhouse for all to admire for years to come.

The evening’s events will be hosted by your sons and daughters from the Forest Highlands Youth Leadership Board. In addition to what will surely be a tremendous display of golf prowess, attendees will enjoy a special dinner from Chef Eddie as well as an open bar. Members of the youth board will put on a brief program about the importance of adaptive sports; and we will conclude the evening with the presentation of the Top Gun Champions Cup!

All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to supporting High Country Adaptive Sports with the goal of ensuring that all of Arizona’s children, veterans, and other adults regardless of physical, cognitive, or even economic challenges have ample access to northern Arizona’s beautiful outdoors through adaptive sports and activities.

Top Gun Golf Shootout:

Competition Format:

  • Top Gun is a closest-to-the-pin style competition.
  • Each player will be vociferously announced to the crowd by the event emcee and will have three shots at the pin.
  • Each player’s best ball will be scored using the trackman system. The others will be discarded.
  • In the event of a tie or multiple ties, the remaining players will take one more sudden death shot. This format will continue until there is a winner.
  • The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, a commemorative plaque, and have his or her name proudly displayed on the Top Gun Champions Cup in the Canyon Clubhouse. 2nd place winner will receive $250 cash prize, and the 3rd place winner will receive $100.

About High Country Adaptive Sports:

High Country Adaptive Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2015 by a passionate group of outdoor enthusiasts who recognized a barrier to entry for people with disabilities when it came to experiencing Arizona’s mountains, forests, and waterways. With the belief that we can all benefit from outdoor recreation, regardless of physical or cognitive challenges, our program has grown into a year-round operation in hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and snow sports.

There is no limit to what can be accomplished when we work together. We are honored to guide our athletes on their expedition as they forge ahead, leaving behind perceived limits and discovering new destinations of potential within themselves.
